Alumnus Interaction

Alumni talk programs enable current students to leverage alumni community of the Institute. A session was organized by the Department of Electronics & Telecommunications Engineering where in alumnus Mr. Gaurav Gorle (Batch of 2017) interacted with students from the E&TC and Computer Engineering Department on 7th Feb 2019. He is working as a Software Engineer at Microsoft, USA and has completed his Master’s from Syracuse University, New York.

Mr. Gorle began by sharing his four year journey of engineering at the Institute and how involvement in robotics projects made him confident and sharpened his technical skills. He and his friends Prateek Jaiswal & Ajinkya Jumde conducted a robotics workshop for their juniors while they were just students. He shared about the battles he faced to keep his grades up and be regular for classes, a good friend circle  were his support system throughout his graduation.

He then took the audience on a video tour of his Syracuse University campus showing the study area, canteen, sports arena, etc. to give them a taste of what MS studies in USA is. How strict assignment deadlines give rise to sleepless nights and further briefed them about his MS project.

He motivated students to focus on algorithms and coding which is essential in every engineering career these days and shared resources, good websites like ‘Leetcode’ and ‘HackerRank’ to improve their coding skills. The Department and Institute appreciate the efforts taken by Mr. Gaurav Gorle in guiding students and encouraging them in scaling to new heights.
