Celebrating International Yoga Day

On the occasion of the 7th INTERNATIONAL YOGA DAY, the NSS student volunteers team came together and put forth an online program on 21st June2021, 6:45am. The theme proposed by them to mark this day was “Stay at Home, Stay with Yoga”, keeping in mind the current pandemic.

Ms. Shrija Bongirwar and Prathamesh Lakhe welcomed faculty members and students and also gave a brief history about Yoga and specialty of this day. Prof. Dr. Surendra Gole, Principal, shared his thoughts about the “eight limbs of Yoga” and motivated students to practice it daily.Yoga as an ancient art, having its roots in the Rigveda & Upanishads. Shloks were recited by Dhanashree Shingnapure & Chetan Gabhne briefing the audience about its importance and relevance.

A compilation of pre-recorded video with students performing varied yoga poses was also presented during the event. The voiceover was given by Sanika Vinzey & Bhavna Balpande, explaining the benefits & significance of these yoga poses.

The program came to an end with the vote of thanks proposed by Gouri Ghushe, expressing gratitude to the audience on behalf of all NSS volunteers.

This program was carried out under the guidance of Dr. Ashlesha Nagpure (Program Officer) and Dr. Kiran Khandarkar supported the team in technical aspects.
