“STAND OUT” – why fit in when you are born to stand out

The Department of Basic Sciences & Humanities in association with the Happiness Center organized a Personality Event, “STAND OUT” – why fit in when you are born to stand out.

The event was organized on 7th July 2021 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm for the First Year students with the aim to provide a stage to students to showcase their talents.

The event was divided into three rounds. In the first round, participants had to give their Self Introduction in a creative way. In the second round, they had to market a product of their choice in 90 seconds, and in the final round, the students were asked a few questions by the judges that they had to answer in an explanatory manner. Skills tested of the student here were logical thinking, presence of mind, confidence, communication, body language dynamics, creativity, etc.

The winner of the first round was Mr. Barnabas Johnson and he was awarded the title of Mr. Confident. The winners of the second round were Ms. Sanika Vinzey and Ms. Devashree Kale and they both were given the title of Ms. Influencer. The winner of the final round was Ms. Manaswini Mohite and she was awarded the title of Ms. Impressive. The all round performer who did well throughout the event was Ms. Shawna Haldar and she was awarded the title of Ms. Personality.

The judges of the event were Prof. Nikhil Raj, Prof. Abhranil Banerjee and Prof. Vasudha Patil. Student coordinators for the event were Ms. Vrushali Moon and Mr. Soumya Pokale from second year and their organizing team from First year, Sanskruti Khobragade, Achal Dehekar,  Nishita Thakre, Shrineedhe Pande, Shreya Pise and Swapnil Phawale.  

The event was organized by Dr. Ashish Bodhaye, Co & Extra-curricular Coordinator and Prof. Sonia Francis, Happiness Centre Coordinator.
