The Alumni Cell Department of the Department of Mechanical Engineering in association with Design Club organized an alumni talk on “General overview on Design”, on 20th August, 2021.

The talk was given by Mr. Swapnil Dhakate 2018 batch Alumnus from Mechanical Engineering Department. Mr. Swapnil has previous work experience as Transportation Designer with Daimler Truck Division, Chennai, India. He has completed his Master of Design from MIT school of Design, Pune, India. He received a Gold medal during his masters.

During the talk, he gave overall insight on the design field in which he discussed Transportation Design, Product Design, Graphic Design, Fashion Design,  Interior space and furniture design. The session was conducted online on Webex platform. Students raised doubts related to career in the design field which were resolved during the question answer session. Mr. Swapnil also gave some insight on preparation for various entrance exams required for Masters in Design. Live sketching session was conducted at the end of the webinar to give the students an idea about the skills required to get into the design domain.

Mr. Tushar Aneyrao coordinated the event and was present during the conduction. It was attended by 47 students of all branches.
