Oratory Competition on ‘UNTOLD STORIES’

The Communication Club of the First Year Department started it’s activities with a bang on 30th Jan and 1st Feb, 2020. The name of this activity was ‘Untold Stories’. The aims and objectives of the Club is to develop Communication Skills of the students and help them to tackle their stage fear. The competition on the first day was judged by Prof. Ashish Lawrence and Prof. Neha Singh from IT Department. On the second day, Prof. Madhura Kulkarni from ETC Dept. and Prof. Sajeena Abraham were the judges.

There were 12 participants on Day one and 11 participants on Day two. These participants were judged on the basis of their verbal skill, content, voice modulation and body language. Each participant was given a time limit of 3 minutes. Students brought to light stories of many famous celebrities like Akshay Kumar and Nawazuddin Siddiqui and also shared their views on serious matters such as Corona Virus, struggle of the late basketball player Kobe Bryant. The audience was thrilled to hear about the lives of such famous personalities. Keya Adayalkar, Rachita Jaiswal, Somesh Awchat and Anshul Gajbhiye did a wonderful job with the anchoring. At the end, Prof. Ashish Lawrence interacted with students and gave them tips on how to further improvise. The Communication Club wishes to continue organizing such events which will develop the personality of students, especially their speaking skills.

Winners on day one were Kshitij Kumar, Rajat Suryawanshi, Nikita Ingle and Debanjali Das. The winners on Day 2 were Samiksha Barde, Aditya Bandagi, Surbhi Yerekar and Shreyas Dongre from Section A, E & H and Ashwadeep Zilpe, Raj Aryan Singh and Heena Patil from B, F, G & I Section. Three cheers for Prof. N Gore (C & Extra Curricular Coordinator), Prof. S Abraham (Communication Club Coordinator) and it’s core team for organizing such a wonderful event.
