One Week Online Faculty Development Program on ‘Teaching Learning Processes Using ICT Tools for Education 4.0’

The Department of Information Technology had organized a one-week online faculty development program on “Teaching Learning Processes Using ICT Tools for Education 4.0” in association with the Computer Society of India, from 8th to 13th June, 2020.

The FDP has focused upon numerous online Teaching-Learning Processes and ICT Tools, a requisite for "Education 4.0". This learning program was aimed to empower college, university and school teachers of various disciplines such as science, arts, commerce and engineeringwith modern and innovative pedagogical tools for effective teaching practices. This would enable them to enhance student engagement through interactive and collaborative learning, thus maximizing the learning outcomes by students.

Enthusiastic participants, 2722 in number registered for this program from 25 states of India and 7 countries from the world,successfully completing it too.Mr. Pradeep Rathi, Vice-President Computer Society of India, Region 6, Maharashtra and Goa;Dr. P. Malliga, Head and Associate Professor, National Institute for Technical Teachers Training and Research, Chennai;Fr.Dr. Paul Chandrankunnel, Director; Dr. S. V. Gole, Principal,Prof. R. B. Gowardhan, Vice Principal,and Prof. M.V. Bramhe , Convener,graced the inaugural function of the program.

Dr. P. Malliga, Prof. Bramhe, HOD, IT Department and his entire faculty team acted as expert resource persons, dealing with each topic remarkably.The mode of conduction was online,video sessions were delivered through Google Classroom as an LMS and live chat for difficulty solving.The IT Department productively engaged the participants throughout these six days, with 12 sessions, around 35 learning videos and a quiz session held daily at the end of each day’s learnings.

The much appreciated guest lecture session by Dr. P. Malliga on "Open Educational Resources" was through Google Meet, with live streamingon YouTube. This was followed by the valedictory program, participants overjoyed at their new learning experiences voiced their thoughts during the feedback session.

Prof. M.V.Bramhe was Convener, while Dr. Veena Gulhane and Prof. Vikas Bhowate were coordinators of the FDP. The entire IT Department in unison thank the College Management for supporting them from start to end.
