Three Day Online Faculty Development Program on ‘Teaching Learning Processes Using ICT Tools for Education 4.0-Part 2’
The Department of Information Technology had organized a three day online Faculty Development program on ‘Teaching Learning Processes Using ICT Tools for Education 4.0- Part 2’from 3rd to 5th July 2020.
The FDP addressed numerous online Teaching-Learning Processes and ICT Tools, a requisite for "Education 4.0". This course was aimed for Middle and High schools teachers, to empower them with modern and innovative pedagogical tools to be utilized in effective teaching practices. 2910 participants from 29 states registered and completed this program from different corners of the nation. Fr.Dr. Paul Chandrankunnel, Director, Dr. S. V. Gole, Principal, and Prof. M.V. Bramhe, Convener, inaugurated the program and addressed the gathering.
Resource persons at this hands-on Faculty Development Programme were Faculty Members of the Information Technology Department having expertise in diverse relevant areas. Mode of delivering the sessions was fully online, through video lectures conducted via Google Classroom as an LMS and live chat was used to solve queries. A total of six sessions were conducted in 3 days with around 10 videos. The Valedictory program was graced by Ms. Bani Dhawan, Google Education Head, India & South Asia, Google Cloud India and Mr. Francis Joseph, Collaborator SLN Global Network & Co-founder SLN Foundation. Ms. Dhawan spoke on "Education with Google" through Google Meet and emphasized on the need for transformation in education system post pandemic for synchronous and asynchronous learning, blended learning & project based learning environment in India. Mr. Joseph also deliberated on the subject, sharing his vast experience and knowledge. During the valedictory a few participants joyfully shared their feedback and appreciated the event. The valedictory program was streamed live on YouTube.
This FDP has surely motivated teachers to enhance student engagement through interactive and collaborative learning, thus maximizing learning outcomes. The efforts put in by the organizing team was much appreciated by participants. Convener of the FDP was Prof. M. V. Bramhe, HOD-IT and Prof. Vikas Bhowate & Prof. Vishal Tiwari coordinated the same.
