Kargil Vijay Diwas

Our College NSS Unit celebrated the 21st Kargil Vijay Diwas on 26thJuly, 2020. The event was carried out online due to the Corona Pandemic Janta Curfew at Nagpur.

The Kargil War was fought during May-July, 1999, between India and Pakistan in the Kargil District of Jammu and Kashmir, along the Line of Control (LoC). ‘Operation Vijay’ was launched by India to flush out the Pakistani intruders from Kargil. The war was finally won by India and the whole nation celebrated this victory. However, not all soldiers, who fought in those most treacherous conditions, survived to be a part of this celebration.

To commemorate the contribution of our warriors and to inculcate patriotism among students the Government of India organized a national level quiz competition.

College students and staff participated in this online quiz organized on Government of India website portal https://www.mygov.in/. The Quiz questions were designed to carefully assess the knowledge and understanding about Kargil conflict. Each participant got a digital certificate of participation. Those securing more than 80% or more marks, were entitled to get a certificate of merit duly signed by Secretary UGC, Director NCERT and CEO MyGov.

The Student & staff of our college also kept Kargil Vijay DIwas theme Whatsapp status as a Tech-Pallottine homage to the Kargil War heroes. The event was coordinated by NSS Program Officer, Dr. Ashlesha Nagpure & NSS Faculty Coordinator Anthony Augustine, Department NSS coordinators Mr. Pramod Borle, Mrs. Trivelli Naidu, Mrs. Priya Parkhi, Mrs. Neha Nagdeve, & Dr. Hema Kale.
