Covid -19 Relief Project by St. Vincent Pallotti College

St Vincent Pallotti College of Engineering & Technology, Nagpur undertook the third & final phase of the three month long Covid-19 Relief Project on 31st August, 2020.

This phase covered the distributionof 250 food ration kits containing pulses and edibles in the localities of Dhuti and Dongargaon village, adopted by the college under Unnat Bharat Abhiyan, Ministry of Human Resource Development, Govt. India.On the same day, the distribution of 200 Corona Protection kitscontaining a Hand sanitizer, 4 reusable masks & Vitamin C tablets to police personnel of Sonegaon and Beltarodi Police stations.

The event was conducted under the leadership of Director of college Dr. Paul Chandrankunnel and Principal Dr. Surendra Gole. Fr. Siju Jose representing college managementexecuted the distribution program with the support of SVPCET NSS Unit Program officer, Dr. Ashlesha Nagpure, Faculty Co-ordinator Mr. Anthony Augustine, and staff volunteers.

The distribution project is being implemented by SVPCET NSS Unit, funded and supported by “Pallotti Bread”, Nagpur, and an initiative of The Nagpur Pallottine societywhich supports BPL and marginalized families without ration card living on pavements and slums in and around the Nagpur City. The Pallotti group of institutions, through its feeding programme was able to provide relief to 3000 families during the lock down and distributed 1000 medical kits to the police personnel across the city.
