Anti-Terrorism Day Observance

On 21st May, 2021, the NSS unit of our Institute, organized an Anti-Terrorism pledge-taking event to commemorate Anti-Terrorism Day.

It was on this day in the year 1991, that former Indian Prime Minister, Rajiv Gandhi was assassinated. This year commemorates Rajiv Gandhi’s 30th death anniversary.

The objective behind the observance of this day is to wean away the youth from terrorism and the cult of violence, by highlighting the suffering of common people and showing how it is prejudicial to the national interest.

Because of the Covid pandemic, the 'Anti-Terrorism Pledge" was administered Online as proposed by MHA keeping in mind the safety of participants and organizers and avoiding public gatherings. The Pledge was administered to all NSS student and staff volunteers by NSS student volunteer, Ms. Vaishnavi Samarth.

The event received a good response from NSS volunteers and students. Dr. Ashlesha Nagpure, NSS Program Officer, along with NSS Department Faculty coordinators Prof. Anthony Augustine, Prof. Pramodkumar Borle, Prof. Yogesh Lanjewar, and Prof. Dipak Wajgi coordinated the event.
