Money Management and the Share Market

The IT Department had organized learning sessions on ‘Money Management and The Share Market’ under their IEDC Cell. It was held through Google meet on 31st May, 2021 and 1stJune 2021, for their 2nd, 3rdand final year students. Also present were Head of Department (Information Technology), Dr. Manoj V. Bramhe and Faculty members.

The expert speaker Mr. Shubham Marathe, a Final Year student of the Department, on Day 1 of the program spoke at length about money management and the share market. He explained fundamentals of the Stock Market, citing examples of Buying/Selling, BSE, NSE, Brokers, etc. He further spoke about basic tools that can be used like Candlestick, used by traders to determine possible price movement based on past patterns and types of trading like Day Trading, Scalp Trading, and Swing Trading.

On Day two Mr. Marathe explained Cryptocurrency, its benefits, risk and future scope. Further, he shed light on Dodgecoins, Bitcoins, and financial instruments like Bonds, REITs, and Mutual Funds. He shared how one can start a Systematic Investment Plan (SIP) and can earn more benefits. Finally, he mentioned about Risk Management which includes Hedging, Portfolio Management and Division in Portfolio. 

At the end of the session students and faculty members asked several questions related to the topic. Mr. Athul Nair proposed the vote of thanks. The event was executed successfully by the IT Department’s IED Cell under the guidance of Prof. Pooja Walke.
